West Virginia law requires motorists to have liability and uninsured motorist auto insurance coverage.
Liability coverage helps to cover the costs of property damage or injuries you might cause to someone else in an automobile accident. The required liability minimums are:
- $25,000 for bodily injury, per person
- $50,000 for bodily injury, per accident
- $25,000 for property damage
Uninsured Motorist Coverage helps to pay for property damage or injuries you might suffer in an automobile accident with someone who is not carrying insurance. While motorists must have at least the minimum requirement for uninsured motorist coverage, insurance providers are required to offer the maximum limits of uninsured motorist coverage of:
- $100,000 for bodily injury, per person
- $300,000 for bodily injury, per accident
- $50,000 for property damage
